Can Cognitive Hypnotherapy help you stop smoking for good?
Yes Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help you stop smoking.
Using Cognitive Hypnotherapy and it’s variety of techniques that include NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming , EMI, Eye Movement Integration.
NLP helps me understand how you are storing your relationship to smoking.
Visually, through feelings or how you are conversing with yourself about smoking.
Every person has a different way of storing habits and once you understand what you are doing to continue smoking we can undo how you are storing that attachment.
Over a period of time your body has developed a network of wiring connected to smoking:
- Smoking can be connected to having breaks specific friends
- Smoking can be connected to having a coffee
- Smoking can be connected to social events
- Smoking is often turned to in times of Stress
- Smoking is turned to at times of relaxation and celebrating success
- Finishing something of and so rewarding yourself – or that is a belief smokers have.
Through cognitive hypnotherapy I can support your brain in understanding what it needs to do to stop smoking for good so your body, mind and ensuing actions follow.
HOW COGNITIVE HYPNOTHERAPY CAN HELP STOP SMOKING,
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Session 1
Initially we would have a conversation with you around your level of motivation for releasing this destructive habit and allowing yourself better health, energy and cash, setting a date to STOP smoking and set the wheels in motion using tasks and cognitive hypnotherapy, if appropriate, in the first session to support your success in stopping.
We would begin work to “fragment “ how your current network is wired into your mind by reminding your body and mind of times that you did not smoke – recalling how your body functioned perfectly.
Current research around the “plasticity of the mind” has demonstrated that we are able to continue creating new networks and that old ones, like yours around smoking, can be disabled through the creation of new ones that are more about where you are now.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy works by creating new networks using mental rehearsal and so teaching your brain what you will do differently and how FANTASTIC that will feel.
I would ask you, in the first session, to commit to a definite date soon after the second session to stop smoking.
Through cognitive hypnotherapy I can support your brain in understanding what it needs to do to stop smoking for good so your body, mind and ensuing actions follow.
Session 2
This session is where you have committed to a date to stop smoking and we will use cognitive hypnotherapy to support you in stopping for good.
Session 3
This session is to integrate the changes you are experiencing and lessen any challenges that might be coming up. Some people have this session quite soon after stopping, I suggest 5 to 6 weeks as this is when folk can begin to run into issues.
Some people don’t need the third session and it is entirely up to you to decide whether a third session would be useful.
