I am an experienced practitioner of Cognitive Hypnotherapy and a Master NLP practitioner trained by Trevor Sylvester at the Quest Institute and a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
I also trained in the USA in NLP and Hypnotherapy with Steve Linder of SRI training and coaching, one of the top trainers for the world renowned Anthony Robbins.
Part of my recent experiences have included working for Camden Council mediating disputes between employees where I was able to utilise my skills as a Solution Focused Brief Practice Practitioner and Mediator (OCN qualified).
I have worked with children and young people for over 25 years and trained in solution focused therapy techniques over 15 years ago.
When I trained as a cognitive hypnotherapist it was important to me to use use this skill set with children and so worked voluntarily, for Kids Company as a cognitive hypnotherapist (sadly now closed down due to funding issues).
Using solution focused techniques I looks at where strengths lie and where possibilities for positive change exist.
I find this skill immensely useful as it does not focus on the problem; instead it looks at supporting clients to look at resilience and the strengths they have gained through, often, terribly traumatic experiences.
It is important when working with young people, children and adults that they are not re-traumatised; solution focussed therapy supports connecting with the perspective of strengths, whilst still allowing for space to express anything it is important for the individual to express.
I have always had a keen interest in alternative health and wellbeing and as well as being a cognitive hypnotherapist I am also a qualified yoga teacher, mindfulness meditation teacher and shiatsu practitioner (body work based on the chinese tradition of healing the body through acupuncture points). I bring all these facets of knowledge and experience into my sessions.
